Kalamaki is a seaside village which you can walk around in simply a few minutes! You can find everything you need there, such as: taverns, cafe bars, super markets, car and motorcycle rentals, jewellry shops, tourist agencies and more.

The endless sandy beach is one of the most beautiful in southern Crete. That is not what makes it special though. It is one of the few places in the world where the sea turtles Karetta-Karetta lay their eggs. The Archellon organisation actively protects them.

The area of Messara offers its visitors many options. The Minoan palace of Festos , Matala with its beautiful beach and infamous caves, Gortina, the beach and archealogical site of Komos and the Minoan mansion of Agia Triada are only a few of these options.
